The CMMT Developer Kit is made up of four hardware components, directly communicating with the free-to-access Festo Automation Suite software. Let’s take a look inside the box!

Stepper motor EMMS-ST-42 – For easy application of electric motion and simple automation.- Servo drive controller CMMT-ST – Provided as the PROFINET model – other Fieldbuses available on request. Offers complete control of the servo drive system and allows for communication with the full automation system.
- Encoder cable (1.5 m) – Other communication networks available upon request.
- Motor cable (1.5 m) – By using only one cable plug (OCP), installation becomes much easier and space is saved.
- Festo Automation Suite access – Free lifelong access to Festo’s online tool, used to easily configure all Festo motion control and mechanical axis products with no programming knowledge required.
The CMMT-ST is the most compact drive in the Festo range, being 50% smaller than other products in the same range, with next-to-no compromise in performance. With integrated standard safety, torque can be safely switched off (SIL3/cat. 3 PL e), with safe stop 1 (type c) in use when using an external switching device. Ethernet communication offers direct Fieldbus functionality, while an integrated web server brings simple and fast online diagnostics with the inherent ability to transfer and update firmware and parameters. Running on 24…48 V DC with a maximum continuous output of 300 W, there is no need to use an extra power supply unit when running at 150 W.
Commissioning becomes easier than ever thanks to the auto tuning of the CMMT-ST managing the control and response of rotary and linear motions, with both point-to-point and interpolating movements/positioning being continually optimised. Working seamlessly with its stepper motor, the CMMT Developer Kit opens up a world of motion opportunities.
